Students at Concordia High School
A strong sense of community is central to the Concordia experience. As a small school, CHS offers a safe and more supportive environment than larger high schools. The intimate environment and focus on relationships makes it easier for students to find a place of acceptance and belonging.
Students at CHS are surrounded and supported by a community of peers, as well as caring teachers and school staff that take a genuine interest in students and their development. There’s a strong sense of belonging among our students, with many developing life-long friendships that are maintained years after graduation.
Get Involved
Students have shown greater success rates when they feel accepted and are invested in the school. Concordia provides various opportunities for students to get involved and find a place of belonging. Students are encouraged to consider getting involved in the following:
- Sports – Joining a sports team is a great way to feel part of an active community. CHS offers various inter-disciplinary sports programs that provide opportunities to socialize, learn how to interact with peers and work as a team.
- Performing Arts – Students have a lot of fun in Concordia’s drama and choir programs, with annual drama performances and choir tours.
- Student Council – In addition to developing important leadership skills, members of the Student Council enjoy socializing and connecting at numerous annual events.
- Service Learning – The Service Learning program at CHS is a great way to foster a sense of community while volunteering with community organizations such as churches, schools, social service agencies and charitable organizations.
- Residence - Living in a dorm makes it easy to meet new people and make friends. It can also make students feel more connected and involved in campus life since they are right in the middle of the action.
